Providence Performing Arts Center's ARTS Scholarships, sponsored by Textron and the PPAC Annual Fund donors, provides an opportunity for qualified, talented Rhode Island youth to attend local, summer arts education programs of their choice that promise to broaden their artistic experiences in a chosen area of study.

The program began in 1996 when a portion of the proceeds from the First Annual Greater Providence Gospel Fest was designated for arts scholarships for 10 Providence students. Since then, the program has been expanded to statewide and the number of scholarships has been increased to 25 per year. Over the past six years, 126 scholarships have been awarded to talented Rhode Island students. Previous winners have attended summer programs at the Rhode Island School of Design, Festival Ballet Providence, the All Children's Theatre Ensemble and Rhode Island College (among others).
